Understanding the OSCE Structure
Your MHN OSCE consists of 10 stations, designed to test your knowledge, clinical skills, and professional standards.
APIE Stations (4 linked): Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.
Skills Stations (4 linked in pairs): Practical clinical skills tested in two sets. Each pairing lasts up to 20 minutes, including reading time.
Silent Stations (2 total):
PV Station: Professional values, accountability, and communication.
EBP Station: Evidence-based practice, research appraisal, and decision-making
Standards You’ll Be Measured Against
The NMC Code (2018) sets the benchmark for OSCE performance. It focuses on four key themes:
Prioritise People
Practise Effectively
Preserve Safety
Promote Professionalism & Trust
These standards are applied across all nursing fields and ensure you demonstrate the right knowledge, skills, and attitudes to deliver safe and effective care.
